FASHION........Sparkly mini dress of Selana Gomez rock the red carpet.

Selena Gomez didn’t just debut a new platinum crop at AMAs—she also unveiled a sexy new side to her red carpet style. In the past she’s taken to Giorgio Armani gowns, a sparkly Givenchy halter mini-dress, and a sweeping red Prada number, too, though this leather turn was a statement-making departure from her wardrobe, much like her new blonde ’do. And considering Gomez is set to perform her new single “Wolves,” she’s sure to have more sartorial tricks up her sleeve.Arriving on the red carpet solo (read: without Justin Bieber, like many fans may have hoped), Gomez zipped into a leather mini dress by Coach 1941 that looked like an extended leather jacket thanks to the all-over zipper detailing and classic motorcycle collar. The figure-hugging dress came dotted with pastel star patchwork at the shoulder that brought a streetwise flair to the scene in Los Angeles. She amped up the micro-mini proportions even further with a pair of embellished black pumps that tied in with her party clutch.

General strike turns into violence as two protesters were killed!!!

For more than two years, Venezuela has struggled with a massive economic collapse that has triggered acute food shortages, a lack of medical care and rampant inflation. NPR's Planet Money calls the disaster, caused by government decisions and triggered by a drop in oil prices, an "economic horror story." A political crisis soon followed. Protesters called for the resignation of Maduro, who is now deeply unpopular. But instead of stepping down, Maduro accumulated more and more power. Empty streets, makeshift barricades, burning tires, signs scrawled with "No to dictatorship": Protests continue on the streets of Venezuela as a 24-hour general strike takes hold, the latest development in an ongoing political and economic crisis. Some citizens are trying to go to work despite the shutdown of public transportation; others are taking to blockaded streets in protest. There is widespread fear of more bloodshed after months of conflict and dozens of deaths. Th
