A further £4m (5m euros) could be added in performance-related bonus payments and Fabinho's arrival will likely be followed by the departure of Emre Can. "This is something that I always wanted - this is a giant of a team," said Fabinho. "I am really excited." Fabinho has spent spells playing as a right-back but has excelled in defensive midfield and is viewed as a replacement for Can, who is out of contract this summer and has repeatedly been linked with Juventus. Manager Jurgen Klopp said: "He has ability and mentality to play at the highest level in a number of positions. He can play 'six', 'eight' and 'two'. This is cool." China goalkeeper rejected fashion line and catwalk for football.

Zhao Lina is the face of Chinese women's football, a striking presence who towers over most people and turned down approaches to be a model. Now the 26-year-old international goalkeeper, who stands 1.88m, hopes to use her stature to help raise the profile of the women's game in China. The country, under football-fan President Xi Jinping, is on a mission to stage and perhaps even win the men's World Cup. Chinese clubs are lavishing money to attract foreign coaches and players, while authorities are building football infrastructure and encouraging the nation's youth to take up the game. Among the star players lured to China was Argentine forward Carlos Tevez, reportedly on a contract worth 730,000 euros a week at Shanghai Shenhua before he returned home earlier this year. Zhao, who played for China at the 2016 Olympics and has more than 50 caps, earns just over 10,000 yuan (US$1,500) a month at club side Shanghai Rural Commercial Bank (RCB) - and she is the hi...

The lyrics include brags about being "the MVP of the Champions League" and "the best defender on the globe", "with long hair or with a beard, this kid is from another league." Ramos posted a video of the rap on his Instagram page, alongside links to download the song on various platforms.  "My house, some friends, a lot of magic and this is the result: my life in a song," the 32-year-old wrote. Champion league: I don't understand why juventus were protesting - Ronaldo.

Cristiano Ronaldo could not understand why Juventus protested Michael Oliver's late decision to hand Real Madrid a penalty and a dramatic aggregate win on Wednesday night in the Champions League last four. Lucas Vazquez was brought down in stoppage time by Medhi Benatia, with English referee Oliver pointing to the spot for Ronaldo to convert for a 4-3 aggregate victory. In a dramatic match, Juventus had come back to 3-3 in the tie following their 3-0 first-leg defeat, but Ronaldo says Juve's protests, which saw Gianluigi Buffon sent off, were unfounded. "I don't understand why they are protesting," he said to reporters after the game. "Lucas was tackled from behind and if they don't give him the penalty, it's a goal." Ronaldo, who scored his 120th Champions League goal before celebrating with his shirt off in front of the Real fans, admitted he had to calm himself down before stepping up for the memorable victory. "The pulse increa...

Last-grasp Ronaldo penalty send Madrid to last four

Real Madrid scrapped into the semi-final of the Champions League on Wednesday after Cristiano Ronaldo converted a last-gasp penalty to give Zinedine Zidane’s men a 4-3 aggregate victory over Juventus. The game looked set to enter into extra time after Juventus secured a 3-0 lead at the Santiago Bernabeu after having gone down by the same scoreline in the first leg.

Will Liverpool make it to the final and win the CL now ?

Liverpool came through the Manchester City cauldron to win 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium and secure a 5-1 aggregate win, thanks to goals from Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino. Will they now win the Champions League? Nobody should rule it out now. After the frenzy of Anfield, this was very different. Liverpool had to withstand what Jurgen Klopp called the "thunderstorm" that City brought to the Etihad Stadium. The country's top goalscorers throwing caution to the Manchester wind. When the opening goal came after only 117 seconds, the home side seemed as if they would prove irresistible. But Liverpool showed that there is more to their game than attacking verve. Determination and resilience were the watchwords on the night. Virgil van Dijk shrugged off his early error, Dejan Lovren made a mockery of his critics, and Trent Alexander-Arnold belied his lack of experience to cope with Leroy Sane. City just could not find that second goal.             ...

Alexandre Lacazette brace put Arsenal in pole position to qualify.

Only a major shock in the second leg will prevent Arsenal reaching the Europa League semi-finals, as they beat CSKA Moscow 4-1 on Thursday. Aaron Ramsey and Alexandre Lacazette led the way as Arsenal crushed CSKA Moscow 4-1 at Emirates Stadium in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final, putting the Gunners in complete control of the tie. The competition offers Arsenal their only realistic chance of securing Champions League football for next season and on this evidence they will take some beating, as they swept their visitors aside with consummate ease on Thursday. Although Ramsey's early opener was quickly cancelled out by a delightful Aleksandr Golovin free-kick, Arsenal rarely looked in danger of failing to win, as the brilliant Mesut Ozil soon turned on the style to win a penalty that Lacazette fired home. Ozil then set up Ramsey for his glorious improvised second, before also picking out Lacazette – starting for the first time since ...

Aftermath of 6-1 trash: Messi will need key and fit players to achieve success.

Following the aftermath of ripping Argentina football team in a friendly match against Spain,  some like Guti has quickly come to criticize and talk about Lionel Messi attitude during the friendly matches citing the important of Ronaldo in the Portugal team and some like D.costa has come to praise the importance of Messi in the Argentina team "Argentina are lucky to have Messi". The attitude of Argentina key player such as Di Maria, Aguero etc having injuries before important matches had drain their chances of winning major honour of different tournaments such as 3 copa americ final loss in a row and failure of key players to be fit enough to win the 2014 world Cup. Messi maybe term by some as the god of football from another planets but he alone can't make a team,  football is all about team play, if messi is to deliver the world cup at russia,  he shall need the support of key and fit player with motivation Spirit.

Chelsea fans tell Antonio Conte which formation he should use against Barcelona

Chelsea face Barcelona in the first leg of their last 16 Champions League knockout tie at the Camp Nou on Tuesday night following their 4-0 win against Hull City in the fifth round of the FA Cup at Stamford Bridge on Friday, and Blues fans have urged manager Antonio Conte to play a 3-4-3 formation instead of a 3-5-2 system against the La Liga leaders. The Premier League holders face the daunting trip to the Catalan giants in midweek having played a 3-4-3 system against the Championship side on Friday, but it remains to be seen whether Conte will be willing to go with such an attacking setup in Spain. With Willian, Pedro and Eden Hazard all in form that formation would certainly make more sense if the Italian boss is willing to go for the win, but he could easily line up with three central midfielders in order to give his team more control in the middle of the park like he has previously. Chelsea fans would prefer to see their team line up in a 3-4-3 formation though, a...
